Timber Flooring

Installation - Features a click-install system making it easier to install

Timber flooring(engineered timber) consists of a multilayer plywood core, topped with a real hardwood veneer  (2mm-6mm thick)Providing structural strength and stability, This layered design reduces expansion and contraction due to moisture and temperature changes, making it more resilient then solid hardwood

Durability and maintenance - The flooring can be sanded and polished to remove scratches, dents or light burns, extending its lifespan, especial for thicker veneers (4mm-6mm). However, sanding may remove surface stains or embossing which may require restaining. The floors come with clear sacrificial coats for protection against everyday wear.

Depending on veneer thickness, refinishing is limited to a few times and sanding may alter the original colour.

Hybrid Flooring

Installation - Features a click-install system making it easier to install

Hybrid flooring is 100% waterproof making it ideal for kitchens, laundries and other high moisture areas(though hybrid flooring is not suitable for bathroom areas and it will smell if water gets trapped underneath the boards).

Hybrid flooring is a solid option as it offers the flexibility with water and an easy to install product, relying on the click-lock system. Also offers a wide range of colours and textures mimicking natural timber aswell as coming preinstalled with underlay already underneath the flooring planks. (It is recommended that hybrid flooring is install with a sand cement screed to give it a seamless mirrored look)

Laminate Flooring

Laminate flooring is a versatile and durable flooring option that offers a natural timber look with advanced decor visual, providing a cos effect alternative to real wood.

Installation - Features a click-install system making it easier to install

Laying laminate flooring with underlay is required for the following,

Moisture protection - The underlay acts as a moisture barrier protecting the laminate from subfloor dampness, which is crucial since laminate isn't waterproof.

Sounds insulation - Underlay reduces noise from foot traffic absorbing impacts sounds and minimising hollow echoes, especially in multi-storey buildings this enhances acoustic comfort in homes and offices.

Comfort and durability - It adds a cushioned layer, making the floor softer to walk on and reduces wear on the laminate by absorbing pressure from foot traffic

Conclusion

All the flooring types are considered floating floors. this means that during the install process the flooring is not glued, nailed or fixed directly to the subfloor at all, hence the name floating floor. However all bullnosed floating floors must be glued down when installing on stairs.

The floating floor products are designed to accommodate for the slight subfloor imperfections and allows for the floor to expand and contract with temperature and humidity changes, reducing risks of warping and lifting out of the interlock system.
